SOLD OUT - Black Dog Salvage & Taubman Museum of Art - "Stories of an Abandoned Virginia"

  • Taubman Museum of Art 110 Salem Avenue Southwest Roanoke, VA, 24011 United States (map)

This program is brought to you by John Plashal Photo and Black Dog Salvage. Come spend your Sunday afternoon enjoying this highly visual presentation of Virginia's "abandoned afterworld". Plashal has not only spent many years identifying and photographing beautifully decaying houses, churches, schools, hospitals and other structures throughout rural Virginia, but has assimilated into their respective communities to learn about their accompanying backstories. The result is "Stories of an Abandoned Virginia", a super-unique presentation full of powerful imagery and emotional stories revolving around local landmarks that have been "frozen in time" and the accompanying Virginians that once occupied them. As part of the program, Mike Whiteside, co-owner of Black Dog Salvage and co-host of TV show "Salvage Dawgs", will also be joining us for a Meet & Greet session. A complimentary 5x7 print will also be available to all ticket holders and Plashal's photographic coffee table book, "A Beautifully Broken Virginia", will be available for pre-order.

Thank you to Black Dog Salvage for sponsoring this program. And thank you to the Taubman Museum of Art for hosting. The ticket link source is below this Black Dog Salvage logo. Tickets can also be purchased on Facebook at “John Plashal Photo”.
