Interested in seeing the now iconic and internationally popular decaying Presidents Heads? Take advantage of this opportunity before they are shipped away from Virginia later this year. This will be one of a handful of opportunities in the coming months to legally tour the grounds of these crumbling statues in the absence of any organized photo shoots. With full permission from the landowner, you will have a 3 hour window to visit these relics up close and personal to grab one last glimpse of them before they leave us. Apart from a 5-10 minute history on the Heads which will be delivered at 2PM, the rest of the afternoon is an unguided 3 hour window of time for you to roam the grounds of the Heads.
The area around the Heads gets very muddy and wet. Proper footwear and clothing is recommended.
Cameras and drones are permitted. SLR's are fine but there might be a large crowd to deal with.
Initial check-in will be between 1:30 and 2PM at the house that sits on the property of Hampton Roads Materials. Come off of the Croaker Exit on I-64. You will see a church on the left called Liberty Live. The entrance to the property in which the Heads reside is across the street. Come down that long driveway (Hampton Roads Materials, Inc.) and park near the trailer or to the left of the house. DO NOT PARK IN FRONT OF THE HOUSE OR TO THE RIGHT OF THE HOUSE.
* For those that have pre-ordered a copy of "A Beautifully Broken Virginia", just bring your receipt of purchase (either printed or electronic ) and you will get free access.
**Ticketholders that got rained out on a previous date can present their tickets (printed or electronic) during check-in and they will be honored for entrance at this event.
Children aged 5 and under are free.
You will be required to sign a Waiver of Liability form before you enter the property.
Please note that the event area is not at all hospitable to those that require wheelchairs, motor scooters, canes or other walking aids.
