Constructed in 1910, Hamilton High School in Cartersville, Va. was the result of the need for a centralized high school to replace several one-room schools serving students in Cumberland County. Now abandoned for 55 years, the school is beginning to suffer some structural deterioriation, including a leaking roof in the iconic auditorium. This photo shoot is open to 20 photographers who would like access to the school to photographically document it while contributing to it's preservation. With full permission from the owner, participating photogs will have a 3 hour window to roam the school and photograph it. A brief historical presentation will also be delivered. The majority of the proceeds from this event will be donated to the Hamilton High School Foundation, whose fund was created to offset the cost of age-related repairs. The doors to the high school will open at 4PM and you can stay until 7PM. The address is 1862 Cartersville Rd. in Cartersville, Va.
